I love burgers. This is a record of my burger eats for posterity, for when I inevitably die of burger related disease and/or obesity.
Let this be a tasty warning. Enjoy !

Verdict: My first impression is that I'm on Ozempic on similar, and therefore having smaller portions (although this is Belgravia, almost, so that may be true of the customer base!) - the OG is a small bun with small thin patties, in a small bun. Second impression is it's very onion dominated, with the mustard a close second, obscuring any other flavour in a not very nice way, giving bitter overtones (a bit like myself having paid £10 for it). Pickles are OK, not enough to generate any overall benefit ,ketchup, and although the cheese give a valiant effort to add flavour and texture it can't complete with the mustard/onion onslaught. Patties are similarly just overwhelmed, I'm not sure they're great in any case, had some crisp on the edges, but they're just too thin to deliver even with two of them. Potato bun held together well but was a bit cold so not much help in generating good will. Fries were OK, a little crisp and warm rather than hot, but OK. No beer, and Orange Juice wasn't allowed as adoption, so had water in a can (should have gone for sparkling to make it more sophisticated, but I wasn't going to drink it anyway).

Verdict: Unprepossessing location, especially with an old replaced sink in the counter area, with a curious menu of food choices described in a pseudoscience manner, but which essentially delivers burgers and chips pretty well. There doesn't appear to be a standard cheeseburger so I want for the Double Smash Flamer which was good - the patties are greasy but well delivered even if the taste is quite fatty, with crispy edges and a soft middle. Tomato and sauce were OK, and the sauce is where the spice is, tingly rather than hot, and feeling a bit powdery. One big chunk of pickle didn't add much other than one of my five a day, although it tasted nice so it's a shame it wasn't sliced and spread across more of the burger where it could add flavour. Good burger cheese and bun, although there is salad advertised I didn't notice it if it was there. Very good fries, crispy and hot. Soft drink only, so I didn't (actually had water for cost effectiveness).

Verdict: Seems like Hertford Road is developing a smash burger style of higher fat patties, presumably buying into fat is flavour (and they're cheaper) resulting in crisp edges with greasy mouth feel but an OK taste, and a piquant sauce (although this sauce is more mustard and helps cut through the fattiness). The burger is quite small and thereby matches the price point, and have crispy edges but because the patties are quite small they're essentially well done all over. There's a good pickle bite, but the cheese tastes is swamped even if it's texture survives to add minor but good vaguely unctuousness. A bit of onion in places doesn't add much but doesn't spoil through it's inconsistency. Brioches bun does the job throughout. Chips are only OK, industrial skin on which arrive hot and crispy but quickly become less so, not hideous just not great. Soft drinks only, didn't try. It's a compact menu, two beef and two chicken variations only, with a special fortnightly, no website so delivery options below (or collect).
