Purpose: Burger Assessment
Good for: Flavour
Verdict: Rather bizarrely, I found the flavours almost artificial. The burger had a smokey taste that was almost disconcerting, but not a bad thing, just a bit ... strange, and the country fries tasted like jacket potato, again not a bad thing, but.... The patty was a good size, densely packed, nicely cooked, in a good brioche bun with sesame seeds, good bit of lettuce and a curiously strong tasting red onion confit. Cheese a bit superfluous. Crispy chips. Small but interesting selection of alcohol, and unusual bottomless soft drinks. A really good looking menu of burgers. I'd go back to check them out without hesitation.
Burger: Some would say Super Tidy, I probably wouldn't.

Good for: Frenchness
Verdict: Beef is really nice, great dense texture and beefy taste, cooked on a flat grill so no char. Bun is too big - the patty isn't small, but the bun (nice chewy, sesame seeded) make it look like it. Alternatives include veal, and you're encouraged to build your own - I didn't. Light cheese taste, too much mustard in the sauce for me (the Big Fernand comes with one of the three house sauces - also sundried tomate, bizarrely nice), but it doesn't ruin the taste. Option of spiced fries, a bit too much salt, or spinach salad, not normally my side of choice. Or any burger shop. Drinks restricted to bottles of wine, a single beer, or a range of craft soft drinks - completely the wrong way round in my alchohol orientated opinion. Normal burger prices, made expensive by the wine being bottle only.
Burger: I'll go back, I wouldn't be surprised if others don't.
