Apple's Burger Blog
I love burgers. This is a record of my burger eats for posterity, for when I inevitably die of burger related disease and/or obesity. Enjoy Apple's burger reviews, enjoy burgers more (responsibly of course)
Let this be a tasty warning. Enjoy !

Mother Flipper
Most appropriately, next to the Gherkin (street food van, St Mary's Axe - top names abound - near Liverpool Street station) - now at Brockley Market and Seven Dials as of 26/07/2024
-
Purpose: Burger Assessment
-
Good for: Nothing but burgers
-
Verdict: Good, a better version of the Dirty Burger/Meat Market style hand based meat sandwiches - the thicker meat patty on this is an improvement. It's coarse grind and meaty. Sauce is nice, bun's very good, couldn't really get the cheese. It also looked like it was going to be greasy, but wasn't (possibly the moisture from being covered for the last part of the cooking process). Good value also. No fries, no drinks, which makes overall assessment difficult, but it was worth it.

Burger: Not over-hyped.

Tongue 'N Cheek
Also next to the Gherkin (street food van, St Mary's Axe near Liverpool Street station) - now in Camden as of 26/07/2024
-
Purpose: Burger Assessment
-
Good for: Rosemary fries
-
Verdict: Interesting. The patty is 50% heart, which gives a rich beefy taste which I suspect won't be to everyones taste, but I could be wrong. The rest of the burger's OK, looking good but overwhelmed by the meat in terms of taste - bun is OK, cheese invisible and despite plenty of sauce not much came through, the only exception was the pickled item (radish?), which was a nice piquant contrast to the beef. Rosemary fries, apparently cooked in rosemary infused oil, were really good - much better than the normal approach of crushing leaves into salt and sprinkling it over the fries. On the plus side, if you don't like the burger you won't be too disappointed. Unless you don't like rosemary. In which case you're doomed. And no beers to console yourself with.
