Purpose: Lunch Burger Assessment
Good for: Lunch, handily
Verdict: Following on from French burgers, Le Bun,, how bizarre. Anyway, very good burger. Initially I thought that the adminttedly tasty burger sauce would swamp the the flavours, but I was wrong - the cheese came through, as did the flavour of the meat which is quite unusual generally. The meat was good, and the cooking excellent - bit of crisp fromm the grill, still pinkish in the middle. All round good job. Great job with skin on chips as well, although I didn't like the truffle mayo. No beer here, but try at the Sebright if you have the chance, thye have plenty (see Lucky Chip review).

Purpose: Lunch Burger Assessment
Good for: Disappointment
Verdict: Disappointment sounds hideous, but it wasn't, just - you know, a little bit of a letdown, mainly becuase it looked good. Nothing about it was bad, the patty was actually really nicely textured and pink, and even had a bit of taste. Unfortunately that reflected the overall burger - the bun was good if chewy, cheese looked nice, lettuce/onion/pickle, but none of it enhanced the flavour overall. Shame. Chips were a bit soggy, but at least there were some nice bottled beers avalable to take the edge off the disappointment. Also go early , it closes at 16:00 and is only open Monday to Friday.
