Purpose: Burger Assessment
Good for: Thanking your lucky stars
Verdict: I didn't realise it was a van (there are two other outlets) but we gave it a go anyway and I'm totally happy I did. Apart from not selling beer, it was almost perfect - solid bun which lasted the course, usual salad, a pretty good burger sauce, nice pickles, good American style burger cheese and as I went for the serious, two tasty beef patties. Even the chips were hot and crispy. Be careful of the stability when you have two patties, the big piece of tomato I had caused the patties to push out which made it quite messy, but even that had charm. There may have been some sauce crossover, as there was a bit of heat in the burger sauce which may or may not be meant, but nothing to complain about.

Good for: Simple fare, plus Cheeseburger dumplings
Verdict: Disclaimer: The chef forgot to put the house relish on the burger, and I didn't send it back. I like burgers with just cheese and onion, and I liked this one as well - except that the patties were overcooked and dry, not even a charred crust, just tough, which was a shame as I expect the steak texture (which is dense) would have shone had it been medium. I don't think the house relish would have saved it. Good non-cheesy cheese taste and mouth feel and enough nice flavoured onion to deliver taste and not bad breath. Crispy fries with ketchup/mayo in metal pots and not plastic also good. Reasonable drinks options, good quality cocktails (2:1 between 15:00-18:00) but why American beers (think Brooklyn Lager), but that's another story.
