Burgsy's

9 Castlegate, York

  • Purpose:     Burger Assessment

  • Good for:    Big buns & Dolly Parton

  • Verdict:       Formerly a burger van, now a modern looking sit down joint, fully westerned up down the country music on the sound system. Burgers are big, the buns are bigger which isn't great, but they hold together well in the face of serious amounts of sauce and a juicy patty. The patty had more of a coarse grind that I'd normally like, but this was nicely pink and tasty, although a bit swamped in bun & sauce, but not cheese - which was a bit anonymous - it was distinct enough in the middle to enjoy. Crisp fries, and a nice Baytown lager from the short but sweet drinks list, the whole experience was excellent.
